BIONIC University Establishes an International Supervisory Board

BIONIC University (BU), the first Ukrainian inter-corporate IT-university, announced the formation of an international Supervisory Board. The Board will include leading Western and Ukrainian academics, businesspersons and experts on innovation.  BU Supervisory Board is a public entity of experts that functions as an ongoing advisory body that promotes development and improvement of BU efficiency, as well as the establishment of its international reputation. The Board aims at attracting international expertise to create a new educational and social environment in Ukraine.

Rahm Emanuel, mayor of Chicago, Kyiv’s sister city, extended his support for the project in a letter where he stated, “As Mayor and on behalf of the City of Chicago, I extend my support to the Bionic Hill Technology Innovation Park and commend your work in creating a technology innovation campus in Kyiv to grow Ukraine’s impact on IT development as a means to accelerate economic competitiveness”.

Victor Galasyuk, president of BIONIC Hill Innovation Park, stressed the importance of international support.  He stated, “We are grateful to Chicago’s Mayor Rahm Emanuel for his support of our project and for his encouragement to the Kyiv Committee of the Chicago Sister Cities International Program, to Vera Eliashevsky, chairperson of the Chicago Kyiv Sister Cities Committee for her continuous work to enhance our bilateral city exchanges, and to Marta Farion, president of Kyiv Mohyla Foundation of America, for her sustained belief in our vision.  The support of the city of Chicago, with its global expertise in business, education, and urban management, branded by America’s poet Carl Sandburg as the “city of the big shoulders”, provides us with confidence in the success of our mission.  We welcome leading national and foreign experts to share their strategic vision”.

Marta Farion, president of Kyiv Mohyla Foundation of America, who recently joined the BU Supervisory board, stated, “BIONIC University forms a new generation of experts with a global outlook and promotes integration of Ukraine with the international community through education. I am convinced that this project will make a significant contribution to the development of a prosperous democratic state at this pivotal stage of history”, said Marta Farion.

Distinguished members of Ukraine’s government, education and business communities include:  Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Serhiy Kvit, Minister of Economic Development and Trade Pavlo Sheremeta, Head of State Agency for Investment and National Projects of Ukraine Serhiy Yevtushenko, President of Kyiv School of Economics Yurii Logush, CEO of Infopulse Olexii Sigov, CEO of Microsoft Ukraine Dmytro Shymkiv, Founder of BIONIC Hill Innovation Park Vasyl Khmelnytsky, COO Ciklum Roman Khmil. The Supervisory Board Chairman is the Head of Technopolis National Project Viktor Kryvenko.
